"Wolf" Readme File

Welcome to the world of the wolf! 

We at Manley & Associates and Sanctuary Woods Multimedia hope this product 
affords you many, many hours of enjoyment and challenge.

A few notes before you dive in...

1. "Wolf" requires 600K of free DOS RAM to run with sound and music.
   Please, take a moment to verify that you have that much free RAM
   on your machine. Complete instructions on how to do that are found
   on page 24 of the Wolf Survival Guide.

2. With the CD-ROM version of "Wolf", you have two installation options:
   one that takes up about 15.1 Megabytes of space on your hard drive
   (maximum performance), and one that takes up only about 3.3 Megabytes
   (normal performance). If you install one version, and later on decide
   you wish to install the other version, we suggest you first delete
   all the files that were installed by the first version installed.
   To do this, simply delete whatever directory, including the files
   therein, you chose during the original installation.        

3. If you have saved a large number of "Wolf" games, you may wish to delete
   some of them after awhile, to free up disk space. To do this, simply
   delete these saved games files from the directory you chose during
   installation of "Wolf". 
   Warning: Be careful, do not delete something else. You can delete just
            files with extentions: *.IPA, *.IPF, *.IPP, *.WNA, *,WNF, *.WNP,
                                   *.LTA, *,LTF, *.LTP, *.SMA, *,SMF, *.SMP.

4. "Wolf" comes with an exellent manual entitled "Wolf Survival Guide".
   We strongly encourage you to take the time to read it carefully.
   This will greatly enhance your enjoyment of "Wolf".

5. If you have a #9GXE card, there is a chance you may experience a
   horizontal shifting of the graphics while running "Wolf" scenarios or
   simulations. If so, quit the game and go to the directory where you
   installed the #9GXE driver and application files (or insert your #9GXE
   DOS Drivers Disk). Once in proper directory (or drive), type at the
   DOS prompt:
                  GXEPURE YES

   GXEPURE sets the #9GXE card to its pure VGA mode. The card will stay
   in this mode until you reboot your machine. To ensure that "Wolf"
   functions properly, you should load the GXEPURE utility every time you 
   wish to play "Wolf". For convenience, you may wish to copy the file
   GXEPURE.EXE to the directory you created when you installed "Wolf".
   If you do this, then all you have to do is go to that directory and
   type "GXEPURE YES" and then type "WOLF".

6. Remember, there is great "Wolf" music on the CD-ROM version.
   Just put the disc into your audio CD player and enjoy!
